阅读：Bring happiness to our parents

Time flies so quickly that in a twinkling(闪烁）, we become mature（成熟的）girls or boys, or at least we think we are. At the same time, our parents are no longer young.

Our parents give all they have to us but never look forward to getting anything back. When we are ill in bed, it is our parents who attend to us day and night; when we make progress, it is our parents who are much happier than we are; when we’re hungry or cold or sad, it is our parents who we always turn to.

But what have we done for our parents? As we grow up, we have our own ideas and we think we are old enough to think and act by ourselves, so we are always tired of their care. As a result, sometimes we don’t obey them; even quarrel with them! 

To change the situation, we must act at once, letting them know that we love them, too. In doing so, don’t hesitate（犹豫）and don’t be shy. Try our best to do something for our parents, even if they don’t need us to; and try our best not to make them disappointed. In a word, make it a duty to bring happiness to our parents, for that’s the very sign that we are really mature.

We are their hope and we are carrying both our ideals and theirs.

The happiness of our parents is our hope!
